HIRE Minnesota is a coalition of organizations and activists working together to end employment disparities in Minnesota. HIRE brings people together with a vision of a new economy that works for all members of our community. Minnesota is home to some of the worst employment disparities in the country. But HIRE Minnesota has set an ambitious goal: to bring our state from worst to first.
We believe Minnesota can lead the nation in racial employment equity.
With this vision, HIRE Minnesota has united more than 70 community organizations in a broad and powerful coalition to demand jobs, training opportunities and a seat at decision-making tables for people of color.
HIRE Minnesota’s success is rooted in our ability to unite people to work across racial, cultural, geographic and issue boundaries. Since 2008, HIRE Minnesota has helped secure more than $8 million in job training resources, significantly increased hiring of people of color on state construction projects and brought hundreds of people to the state capitol to make employment equity a top priority in our state.
But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. We won’t stop until we meet our goal to eliminate Minnesota’s unacceptable racial employment disparities and put all Minnesotans back to work.
